If you are looking for information, advice, contraception or testing for sexually transmitted diseases, then there are a wide range of sexual health services available in the city and on campus.

YorSexual Health provide free sexual health and contraception services in York and North Yorkshire. You do not need to be registered with a Doctor in York to access their services. They provide a wide range of services including:
Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases
HIV testing, treatment and support
Sexual health counselling
‘PEPSE’ (post-exposure prophylaxis sexual exposure HIV treatment)
Information and support
Care and management following sexual assault
Free and confidential postal tests for sexually transmitted diseases such as YorSexual Health run several clinics across York. Please check out each clinic’s page in the following link to see what specific services they offer and their opening days and times.
YorSexual Health Clinics
YorSexual Health also run a free and confidential sexual health service on campus every Wednesday during term time from 12:30- 15:00. The session is held in:
CII Building, The Centre of Immunology and Infection, Heslington, YO10 5DD

Please note that this is an appointment only service, appointments can be made by ringing 01904 721111.
Alternatively, you can book onto their online Test & Go Service. This service allows patients with no symptoms to order a routine sexual health screen for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and HIV online and for the test to be posted to your home address.
Please be aware that YorSexual Health are no longer able to supply repeat contraceptive pills, patches, injections and rings for patients aged 20 years and over. If you require repeat contraception, you can access these from your GP.
Yorkshire Mesmac provide a range of services for the LGBTQ community, black African communities as well as others adversely affected by HIV. Services and support include:
HIV and STI testing drop- in sessions
Trans & non-binary sexual health sessions
LGBT Youth Group for ages 14-25
Sex worker sexual health drop-in
Free condoms and lubricants
Mesmac also run free and confidential HIV and STI drop-in sessions at the University of York. The sessions will be held in Room ATB/033 Seebohm Rowntree Building (Health Sciences Student & Academic Support Service) and will take place on the following dates and times:
