Doctors Surgery

It’s Important that you look after yourself while studying and if you are experiencing health problems you should seek medical advice as soon as possible. Contact your own GP, or book an appointment with Unity Health, the dedicated University of York GP surgery which has practices at Kimberlow Hill (Campus East) and Wenlock Terrace in Fulford.

You can register at a different GP surgery if you think that this would be more convenient for you. You can use the NHS Choices website to find the nearest GP surgeries.

Healthcare is provided by your doctor, the NHS urgent care centre at York District Hospital and various chemists, dentists and opticians in York. You can find more information on the University’s Student Health Care page.

Information for International Students.

Most NHS services are free if you are studying in the UK for at least six months. However, you will have to meet the costs of statutory NHS charges, including prescriptions and dental appointments. You can see how to access NHS services in England if you’re visiting from abroad at NHS.UK. The University also has more information on their International Student Health Care page.
