Book an Appointment

The GSA Advice Service is currently offering appointments over the phone, by email and one-to-one (via google meet or in person). These are pre-booked, by emailing advice@yorkgsa.org with some details about why you want to chat with an adviser.

When can I get an appointment?

If you want to speak to an adviser, please contact them by email beforehand and we can organise an appointment time. We will offer you an appointment as soon as we are able to – but in busy academic periods, this might not be for a couple of days due to high demand on the service.

If you would like to access support from the GSA Advice Service please download, complete, and send our “Confidential Advice Record” to advice@yorkgsa.org. Our Advice Service team will aim to contact you within three working days.

In order to help us to prioritise your enquiry, please provide all of the relevant information in your email, along with any deadlines you are working to. Please also let us know if you would prefer to receive advice (via email or in an appointment) and if you have any accessibility requirements.

Where are we?

The GSA Advice Office is located on the first floor of Vanbrugh College, above the canteen. You can find the door to the offices next to the Merchandise stand in the foyer. Head up the stairs, take a right through the door and our office is just down the hall.

Appointments

Appointments are generally 30 minutes long. If the issue is particularly complex, an Adviser may suggest booking out an hour to go over the matter in full.

When an appointment is booked, please arrive at the GSA office or join the virtual meeting promptly. If you are more than 10 minutes late to a meeting, the appointment will need to be rescheduled for a later date.

If you are unable to attend the meeting at short notice, please still let us know so we can readjust our schedule or offer the appointment to another student who needs it!
