Hi, I’m Em Xiao. I’m a postgraduate student who is studying social media and interactive technologies with an E-sport interest.

My year at the university has been filled with studying and acting as vice president for postgraduate engagement for Langwith College. As your GSA president, I hope to achieve as much as possible for ALL postgraduates.

My first goal is to include ALL postgraduate voices and be listened to by the university.

Secondly, I want to make activities and events more accessible and interesting to ALL postgraduates.

My third goal is to include ALL postgraduates in new and exciting experiences.

I believe these goals will have a positive impact on postgraduates’ student life because university resources will be made more accessible and helpful. I will be bringing many various things to this role, in my attempt to improve the lives of postgraduates at the university.

My experience as the VP for postgraduate engagement at Langwith College and my previous years as a teacher have provided me with the skills of effective communication between students and organisations and successful management skills to not forget a single voice among the bigger crowd.

I believe I am a very welcoming and assertive person who will listen to everybody, and do my best to fight for what EVERYBODY wants. You should vote for me as I will include ALL your voices, and not cater to a specific group. I will put ALL needs and wants as my priority to make your experience the best it can be.
