York Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Forum

Come and speak at the York Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Forum and have the chance to share your research with postgraduates and ECRs from across the university.

YPIF is a monthly seminar where York postgraduates and Early Career Researchers from all disciplines can come together in a relaxed and inclusive environment.

Each seminar will feature speakers from the Sciences, Social Sciences and Arts and Humanities addressing the same broad theme, creating opportunities for cross-faculty discussion across a virtual platform.

We invite any postgraduate or early career researcher to present an aspect of their research in fifteen minutes to a supportive audience from mixed academic backgrounds. This is a great opportunity not only to stay involved with the academic community in these strange times, but also to engage with scholars outside of your discipline and to find potential collaborations where you might least expect it.

If this sounds like a programme you would like to contribute to, please send us a short description (c. 100-150 words) of your proposed talk as well as your availability via this Google Form. Remember this is for researchers of all disciplines – so write with non-specialists in mind! We shall then select speakers from these applications.

But participation is not limited to speaking and the audience is just as important a part of the community. We would like to invite everyone to come along to our seminars, take part in the group discussion and meet other researchers from across the university.

We look forward to seeing you at a future YPIF seminar!
