Book online

04/03/2020

As part of LGBTQ History Month 2020 (just a few days late!), join us on Wednesday March 4, 6.30 at City Screen to watch the film and hear Fiona Shaw talk about her novel and the politics of film adaptation.

Discussion after the screening with an audience Q&A, with Dr Hannah Roche, Lecturer in Twentieth-Century Literature and Culture at the University of York.

Tell it to the Bees [15] tells the story of a single mother Lydia (Holliday Grainger) who is abandoned by her husband. When she meets the local doctor, Jean Markham (Anna Paquin) recently returned to her hometown, a friendship develops. A close friendship, or something more?

This event has been organised by the English department, but is open to all postgraduates of any department.
