Raby Castle, Deer Park & The Plotters’ Forest Day Trip

14/04/2024

Step inside the former medieval fortress of Raby Castle, one of the finest examples in England 🏰🌳

Raby Castle is around 700 years old, with a history dating back over 1000 years. Still beautifully intact, the Castle was home to Cecily Neville, mother to two Kings of England, and now can be seen on screen, featured in Golden Globe winning and Oscar nominated blockbuster 1917, and the ITV series Victoria.

There’s rumours of ghosts who haunt the Castle walls and, if you’re lucky, maybe you’ll see them around the staircases, in Baron’s Hall, or the headless ghost in the library! 👻

So you can experience everything on offer, we have arranged for a private tour of the Castle. You will be shown through the interior by knowledgeable guides before having free time to roam the castle yourself, enjoy a drink in the Yurt Cafe, explore the Stables shop, or wander around the Deer Park.

Your ticket includes return travel from campus, entry to Raby Castle and surrounding Deer Park, and the private guided tour.

The coach will depart from James College Reception at 8.30am and leave Raby Castle at 4.30pm.

GSA Hardship Fund tickets are available for this trip, to find out more about the Hardship Fund and how to apply, please click here.
