Your New Union Survey

Last month, the GSA and YUSU announced a statement that both Unions would work together to move towards ‘establishing a single, unified Students’ Union for all students at the University’.

We want to ensure that students are front and centre of this new Union. That’s why we need your input and why today, together with YUSU, we are announcing the launch of the Your New Union survey.

What is this survey all about?

At most universities, students are represented by one students’ union. Here at York, we’ve always had two unions. YUSU, or The University of York Students’ Union, represents all students; the GSA, or Graduate Students’ Association, specifically represents postgraduates. After a lot of consultation and positive feedback from students, the two are coming together, to form one student-led and student-focused Union! We want to hear what you want from this new Union. We even want your suggestions for a name!
