GSA City Bar Crawl – 21/09/17 – FAQs

To make sure you know everything you need to know about tomorrow’s event, here are some FAQs:

I HAVEN’T GOT A WELCOME WEEK WRISTBAND, WHERE CAN I BUY A SINGLE EVENT TICKET FOR THE BAR CRAWL?

You can buy a single event ticket for the bar crawl from the GSA Office in Vanbrugh College from 10am on Thursday 21st September to 4pm. There are only 100 single event tickets for this event so head to the GSA Office early to avoid disappointment! There will be no sales at the Shambles Market.

IF I HAVE A WELCOME WEEK WRISTBAND DO I HAVE TO GO TO THE GSA OFFICE?
No, all you need to do is go to the Shambles Market at 7:45pm to pick your route.

WHAT ID WILL I NEED?
Be sure to remember to bring your Student ID (to gain access to some exclusive deals) as well as either your driving license or passport, or another proof of age identification to get into the licensed venues you will be attending on the bar crawl. If you don’t bring proof of age you will risk not being able to gain entry to bars / pubs.

HOW DO I GET TO SHAMBLES MARKET FROM CAMPUS?
For those living on campus, a GSA team member will be at the Market Square Bus stop at 7:30pm to guide you onto 66 busses (£1.60 single / £2 return) or you can walk (approx 30 minute walk)
Here is the location of the Shambles Market: https://goo.gl/maps/KPTWLoayvcp

WHEN DOES IT START?
The event starts at 7:45pm. You’ll be able to pick your route at the start point in the Shambles Market from 7:45pm.

WHEN DOES THE FIRST ROUTE LEAVE?
Routes will start leaving the Shambles Market at 8:45pm.

WHAT ARE THE ROUTES?
There are 6 different routes:
Route 1: Cheesy
“This ain’t just for girls who want to have fun, all are welcome for Pure Cheese and cheap drinks”

Route 2: Cheap
“All about the deals and all about the value, you’ll have a great time and come home with change in your pocket”

Route 3: Cocktail
“The most delectable concoctions the heart can desire, you’ll be taken on a mixology journey”

Route 4: Ale
“For the burgeoning Ale Aficionados, fine establishments with ales from around the globe”

Route 5: Sophisticated
“Are you so sleek and so chic? Then this is the crawl for you”

Route 6: Alternative
“Are you a goat or a sheep? Don’t follow; be a leader on this route”

Each route has a maximum of 50 people to ensure capacities aren’t too full in the pubs and bars we’ll be visiting, to easily manage movements of people (and to ensure you have enough time to get served before you move onto your next bar!) Be sure to get down to the Shambles Market early to get onto the route you want!

CAN I GET FOOD BEFOREHAND?
The Shambles Market will be serving a great selection of streetfood to fill you up and give you energy for the night ahead:

WHERE CAN I GET CASH OUT?
Remember to get cash out before the crawl to help speed up serving times in bars. A cash point can be found in Market Square on campus and a selection of banks can be found within 5 minutes walk of the Shambles market.

HOW CAN I GET HOME?
If you are looking for a taxi to take you back home at the end of the night two companies recommended by the University and GSA include:
659 taxis: 01904 32 659659
Streamline taxis: 01904 32 656565
Remember to get home safely, best to stay in a group of friends rather than going home alone.

WHERE IS THE END OF THE BAR CRAWL?
The end point of all routes is Fibbers night club, which your wristband will give you free entry, just show it on the door.
