Do you fancy yourself to be a top baker? Have you ever spent hours in the kitchen working to perfection only to not be able to revere in your achievement? Or maybe you enjoy a good baking competition, but don’t have the magic touch yourself? Well good news is on hand!

To celebrate the Easter holidays we’re running our annual Great York Bake-Off Competition, in which we’re seeing if you can rise to the occasion to make the best Easter themed cake. We’ll be enjoying the afternoon in King’s Manor with all the treats you’ve made along with some free wine.

We’re welcoming everyone from culinary experts to baking beginners to work their magic, with a top prize being awarded to the best looking, and importantly, best tasting creation judged by the GSA expert panel.

We want you to be as creative, innovative, and inspiring as you can be, and if you’re stuck for inspiration, we’ve added some of last year’s entries below.

There’s also a people’s choice award for the cake that’s the favourite in the room, so don’t count yourself out!

All you have to do if you want to compete is sign up as a baker, and then bring your creation to King’s Manor on Friday the 22nd of April to be judged and shared.

Or if you’re not as confident in the kitchen but still want to take part, you can always come along as a guest to try some cake, enjoy free wine, and have your say on the people’s choice award.
