Information Fair

Online Information Fair

Welcome to our Online Information Fair!

We would have loved to do this on campus with you and have thousands of you in the same room, with pizza, and just generally having a great time. Seeing as we can't do that though, get yourself a snack, get comfy and take a look at some of the great opportunities we're bringing you at the information fair this year. This is almost all EXTRA stuff you can do on top of the GSA Networks, which you can find linked under Welcome 2020 or by following the link in the find out more section. We're bringing you clubs and university services, so there's a bit of something for everyone.

For anybody who doesn't know what the GSA is take a look at the video in the Find out More section. Almost every one of the groups at the Information Fair have recorded a video specifically for you, and that is where you'll be able to watch them.

Happy Scrolling!

Postgraduate Student Newspaper

Fancy yourself a writer? Have an opinion on…well, anything. Join our Postgraduate Student Newspaper, launched for the very first time this year. For too long, campus student media have ignored Postgraduates – you can make a difference! There’s no barrier for entry; you don’t need to have any experience writing anything before (you’re all Postgrads, I’m sure you’re great at writing). However, if anyone does fancy themselves as a potential editor, we are recruiting volunteers for roles on the committee too.

We are brand new (so not even a video yet) and students can take the newspaper in the direction that they want to take it - and that includes giving it it's first ever name!

If you want to know more about it, give me a shout (Troy) by contacting me on or signing up by filling out this form with your name and email address:

There is no more to find out. The more is for you to decide and create.

But seriously though, sign up, and we’ll have great fun writing for the newspaper!

Jiu Jitsu Club

Jiu Jitsu is a traditional Japanese martial art. It’s a defensive art, which uses joint locks, throws and strikes to defend a variety of different attacks. We teach a modern form of it, adapted to take into account the sort of self-defence situations you might find yourself in today (less armour and fewer horses, more punches and pub brawl type attacks).

GSA Advice Service

Studying for a postgraduate programme can be incredibly challenging. You may be living in a new city (or even a new country), meeting new people, and discovering new theories, ideas and concepts.

At the GSA Advice Service, we recognise that this is only the start of the challenges which you might face as a postgraduate student. You might find that you aren’t getting on with the people on your programme, you might feel homesick or lonely, or you might have illnesses which affect your studies.

The GSA Advice Service is here to help you meet these (and other) challenges in your University experience, and to help you to make sure you do the best you can in your studies.
