Durgotsav/Navaratri/Dussera celebration

The new academic year has started, we all might be stressed and overwhelmed so why not come and chill? Come & join in this Indian celebration held at the University of York and make it a memorable evening.

The event is organised by Anuradha Rudra, Mrittika Bhattacharya, Patel Anjali Ashokkumar and Keerthi Sinha, new postgraduate students of the academic year. Along with GSA, we aim to welcome all students irrespective of their faith and ethnicity to enjoy the highlights of the event which includes songs, dancing, games, food and a glimpse of festivities.

Here is a short brief of the event: Throughout India, we will celebrate the victory of good over evil by performing various ceremonies and bringing people together from all communities and religions during 29th September to 8th October. It is celebrated as “Durgotsav”/ “Dussehra”/ ” Navratri ” in various parts of India during the aforementioned period every year.

Let’s all come together and experience a taste of Indian culture, here at York with free entrance and tickets of £3 for dinner (Onion Bhajis, Sabji Masala, and Pullao) which will be available on Eventbrite link. So, take your gadgets out and book your tickets before they get sold out. We hope to see you all!
