Durham is an idyllic market-town with so much to explore. Steeped in Roman, Norman and medieval history, there’s no shortage of things to do; come and see the breathtaking Romanesque Cathedral which overlooks the town, or Durham University’s Oriental Museum. The town is also full of bustle, with cosy cafe’s overlooking the glinting river, and wonderful markets and eccentric shops littering the cobbled streets.
If you’re interested in attending any Durham’s historical attractions, please be aware that charges may apply and it may be useful to pre-book. Durham Cathedral has no admission fee, but asks for a £5 donation. The Oriental Museum is free, but has a pre-booking service.
We’ll be meeting at 9:00am on Saturday 8th at the Roger Kirk Centre.
