Sam Hardy-Mayo

Summary of current role
I currently work as an Academic and Welfare Advisor at the GSA, giving guidance to postgraduates on a range of issues surrounding their studies and wellbeing. I also work closely with our elected Sabbatical Officers. Helping them to prepare presentations, speeches, statements and reports, and to further enhance the postgraduate experience at the University of York – via the planning/production of postgraduate events, and the lobbying for the implementation/change of University policy.

Previous Experience
After finishing my Undergraduate Degree in BA International Relations & Politics at the University of Sheffield, in September 2020 I embarked on my Postgraduate Degree in MA International Relations at the University of York. Having recently graduated from the University, I feel I have a good knowledge of the issues that postgraduates face here, and love helping the student community that I have just left.

Fun Information
In my spare time I am a keen football player, and an avid fan of my beloved Manchester United. I also like frequenting gigs and festivals – enjoying the music of artists such as The Chemical Brothers, Kasabian, and The Stone Roses.
