Emma Coward-Gibbs

Hi! I’m Emma, and I’m the GSA’s Advice and Welfare Coordinator.

As an Adviser at the GSA, I provide free, independent and confidential advice to students at the University of York.

I can help you with issues relating to your studies, like exceptional circumstances, appeals and problems with your supervisor. I can also help you with wellbeing issues, like helping you to find support for problems like stress, homesickness or issues relating to a disability. If I’m not able to help you with your problem, I can help you to identify the most appropriate service who can.

If you’d like to book an appointment to speak with me, please click the “Book an advice appointment” button at the top of our webpages.

I first joined the University to study for my BA in English and History, before completing my MA in Medieval Studies at King’s Manor. I then spent two years working in the University’s Student Hub.
