Complaints Procedure for the GSA Officer Elections 2023
If you wish to make a complaint about the way in which an election is run, there are specific ways to do so.
Submitting a Complaint:
All complaints regarding the conduct of elections must be made to the Deputy Returning Officer in writing. Evidence is required and will need to be provided prior to the close of voting (9am Friday 2nd June).
Responding to Your Complaint:
The Returning Officer Team shall respond to any properly submitted complaints within 24 hours upon receipt.
If you are dissatisfied with the response of the Deputy Returning Officer, or if the Deputy Returning Officer is the subject of the complaint, then you may take the complaint in writing to the Returning Officer whose ruling shall be final.
The Returning Officer Team may also take action without receipt of a complaint if they deem necessary.
Rules and Regulations of Participating in an Election:
Candidates must abide by the University of York and Association rules and policies and any other relevant procedures. Any candidate found in breach of the outlined rules will be automatically disqualified from the election, will be subject to the Association’s disciplinary procedures, and may be referred to the University for further action.
