Academic Affairs Committee
The GSA Academic Affairs Committee is a sub-committee of Association Council, and co-ordinates the Academic Work performed by the GSA.
Membership
The Committee is chaired by the elected Academic Affairs Officer - currently held by Kieran Alden through until October 2010. The committee is comprised of the following people:
- GSA Welfare Officer (Heather Rowley)
- GSA President (Rui Huang)
- GSA Campaigns Officer (Caroline Fielding)
- Postgraduate Representative on University Senate (Andy Suggitt)
- Postgraduate Representative for Postgraduates who Teach (Beth Watts)
- Postgraduate Representative for Distance Learning Students (vacant)
- Postgraduate Representative for PGCE Students (vacant)
- Postgraduate Representative for Part-Time Students (David Jones)
- All Department Course Reps
This committee exists with the following terms of reference:
- Be the focus for discussion of all academic issues facing our membership
- Act as a forum for the exchange of ideas between the membership and the organisation regarding academic issues
- Act as a forum to share examples of good practice across academic departments
- Develop relevant policy on academic issues for the consideration of Association Council
