YUSU - York University Students' Union
Although the GSA is the specific organisation for all
post-graduates at York, all of our students are also automatic members
of York University Students' Union (YUSU), through which you get
access to numerous benefits including the National Union of Students
(NUS) and a number of sports clubs and societies.
As a member of the GSA, you are automatically registered as a member of YUSU, the York University Students' Union. The SU is not just about a load of undergraduates playing silly buggers - the Union helps provide welfare provision, university representation and services as well as co-ordinating extracurricular activities for students at York. In our service area we currently provide YOUR:SHOP (convenience store) and a free minibus service. However the jewel in the crown of YUSU is the number of opportunities it provides to its members. With 57 sports clubs and 106 societies, award winning media, as well as numerous volunteering projects with Student Action and RAG, there really is something for everyone who wants to be involved.
Whilst it is important that you know what we do, it is more important that you know how to get involved. The last few years have seen a greater understanding and cooperation between the GSA and YUSU, which has resulted in more graduates becoming involved in YUSU. Our aim is to work with the GSA to give you the best time of your life.
