It's Rag Week and Saturday is a big day!

RAG Parade

RAG Parade marches on York City Centre at 12 noon on Saturday 13th Feb and then hits the movies for one of the biggest fundraiser events for RAG!! This year, we aim to raise more money than ever before, so we need YOU to don your fancy dress and take to the streets of York. The theme of Wentworth College is Sports and the color is Purple. So come along with your sports related get-up and anything purple you can find.

Show your college spirit and your support for our core charities which include:

  • The Island
  • St. Leonard's Hospice
  • Marie Curie Cancer Care
  • Water Aid
  • Invisible Children.

This is an incredible experience, one that cannot be missed!

Find more information at www.yusu.org/rag, and for more info on RAG week, simply click on http://www.yusu.org/blog/entry/271. Meet at 11 am this Saturday February 13th outside of the Wentworth College Reception.

Study Space

Finding it difficult to find suitable study space while the library is being refurbished?  The university has now released a list of alternative study spaces that can be used while this work is being carried out.  The list can be found at http://www.york.ac.uk/library/servicesandfacilities/studying/universitystudyspaces/.  Availability of study space is always on our radar, so please do email academic@yorkgsa.org if you are not finding suitable study space on campus.

Sports Announcements

Hockey Players Wanted!

Field Hockey

The Wentworth hockey team is looking for anyone (note: ANYONE) who plays hockey or would like to try it out for the first time. We have a team that plays in the college league every Sunday morning, and are currently quite short of players. So if you'd like to join in, please let us know!

Sticks are provided, although you will need your own shinpads (not expensive). It's a lot of fun, and means you can actually do something before midday on a Sunday - every student's dream, surely?  Please e-mail sports@yorkgsa.org if you are interested - all are welcome, boys and girls, skilled or novice. Thanks!
