New Students
Welcome to the University of York.
People decide to return to University to study at postgraduate level for all sorts of reasons and at all stages in life and indeed from every part of the globe. Postgraduates make up over a quarter of the total student population here in York and the postgraduate contribution to all parts of University life is one of the reasons that York is a very special place to study.
York is amongst the few Universities in the UK to have a students union solely for postgraduate students and we work in conjuction with YUSU and the University to ensure that you are well supported in your time here at York.
The Year starts off with ‘Welcome Week’ and carries on with a diverse and varied social program which spans trips to other cities and landmarks and events here on campus. For more details have a look at the events calender.
We also provide Representation, Welfare support and Free Sport so throughout your time as a student here at york, make sure you get to know your GSA.
