The GSA Elected Officers are supported by the GSA staff. Their role is provide back up to the Officers roles and to work with them to get the best possible outcome for the Postgraduate community at York.
Receptionist / Administrator

Janine has worked for the GSA for nearly 10 years now as receptionist/administrator alongside Loveday and Susan in a jobshare. She has a varied array of duties from general administration support for all the the GSA office to organising trips for postgraduate students.

Representation, Advice and Welfare (RAW) Coordinator

Kay joined the GSA as their Representation, Advice and Welfare Coordinator in July 2010. This role requires her to work alongside the Principal Officers, in particular the Academic, Welfare and Services Officer to provide postgraduate students with relevant advice and support on all aspects of their postgraduate experience. In addition to this Kay undertakes postgraduate academic and welfare casework, coordinates the Postgraduate Academic Representatives and supports the Graduate Common Room Committees and Residential Associations.

General Manager
- Contact: Duncan Lean
Duncan was appointed as the first GSA General Manager in January 2010 and has overseen the ongoing transition towards Charity status amongst other areas of work. He works very closely with the Officers to constantly improve the GSA and the service that we provide for the Postgraduate community at York as well as ensuring that the GSA meets its legal, and constitutional obligations.
Duncan comes from a background of Student Representation and Quality Assurance and retains close links with the Quality Assurance Agency.
