Throughout the academic year, the GSA are made aware of various exciting opportunities available to York postgraduates both within and outside of the institution. So far such opportunities have ranged from tutoring undergraduates to getting involved with community based programmes to increase participation and engagement in the education sector.
The GSA will continuously update this page as and when they become aware of new and relevant opportunities available to postgraduates. So keep checking this page to find out what you can get involved with.
The Student Internship Bureau (SIB)
Alongside a degree, work experience remains a vital factor in helping postgraduates secure employment. The Student Internship Bureau (SIB) offers interesting, yet challenging, part-time internships in the local area with a wide range of first-class businesses. Projects focus on self contained pieces of work, are delivered within a distinct timeframe and have specific outputs. All internships offered through the SIB are paid (£6.20 per hour), are available uniquely to University of York students and have, in many cases, led to full-time employment offers on completion of a student’s degree.
Internships are advertised through the Interactive Careers Service; each internship is competitively advertised and interns are selected on the basis of their application and suitability for the position. For more information
