The GSA Budget

The GSA is funded largely by the University of York.

Part of the Finance Officer’s role is to create a sustainable budget which outlines the areas where the GSA team have agreed to spend their money. The General Manager and each principal officer are in charge of a section of the budget, in association with the finance officer.

As part of a diligence process, any payments made by the GSA have to be agreed and signed off by the finance officer, the responsible principal officer, and the General Manager. The budget has been approved by: University Finance Committee, GSA council and the GSA Trustee board.

The GSA financial year runs from August 1 – July 31st. We are independently audited annually and subject to charity commission regulation.
