The GSA Officers have all been elected by their fellow postgraduate students in an annual cross campus ballot. A Principal Officer is allowed, under the terms of the 1994 Education Act, to serve two consecutive ‘one year’ terms with an election in the middle and non principal officers are allowed to carry on for as long as they are still students and are still elected.
Election time is fun for everyone involved and being an elected officer is amongst the most worthwhile single things you can do whilst still a student. After all it is usually at the end of your career that you become a director of a company, with significant influence, a number of dedicated staff and the ability to make a real difference to the student experience.
Once the Election schedule has been finalized, it will be promoted via the GSA newsletter and this website.
In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the GSA elections, please do not hesitate to contact the President.
