A selection of events happening throughout February to celebrate the contribution made to society by LGBTQ+ people past and present.

LGBT Crafternoon – Zine-making
4pm-6pm, 3rd Feb, Wentworth 024
What would inclusive Sex and Relationships Education look like? We will be creating a special LGBT History Month zine! There will be lots of resources and plenty to cut and stick, come along! Refreshments provided.

Higher Education Reading Group- Being LGBTQ in Higher Education
11am-12pm, 7th Feb, Department of Education Senior Common Room (D/L/104), Derwent College, University of York
This monthly reading group for those interested in Higher Education issues opens its doors for LGBT History Month. There are 2 recommended articles for discussion, refreshments are provided: Email as799@york.ac.uk or visit the GSA website for reading materials and to confirm your attendance.

Queer Cabaret presents: Galentine’s Day
8pm-Midnight, 13th Feb, The Lounge, James College, University of York
Recognising the need for intersectional LGBT liberation, this event showcases feminist and queer acts, including live music, spoken word, drag performances and more. While the event is free, an optional £2 ticket price to be donated to York LGBT History Month is recommended.

Mind Your Head Discussion Group
5:30pm-6:30pm, 16th Feb, James Lodge, James College, University of York
YUSU and the GSA combine with Mind Your Head to bring you a chaired discussion group around mental health in the LGBTQ community. Topics may include: coming out, loneliness, coping with harassment etc.

8pm-11pm, 27th Feb, The Lounge, James College, University of York
Test your knowledge of LGBT History with this fun pub quiz, including Disco Bingo! Prizes to be won!
Entry is free, but donations to York LGBT History Month are gladly accepted on the night.
